Regenbogenfabrik
Regenbogenfabrik is a non-profit-making organisation and recognized by the local board for youth care. For children and young people it offers creative courses with music or in the bicycle workshop. It is a main matter of concern to care for good relations to the neighbourhood (the "Kiez" in Berlin). This is supported by a little café for the neighbourhood a local cinema and cultural events. Regenbogenfabrik has already some experience in international meetings by organising german-polish meetings for young people, often supported by DPJW.
We want to increase our experience and extend our contacts to more european countries such as Slovakia, Spain and Romania.
The rainbow factory has existed since 1981 and understands itself primarily as a children- and proximity center for the nearer Kreuzberger environment. In the difference to other comparable arrangements, this definition very be far grasped to be sure and included following focal points:
- connection of "living, life and work". Most business grooves live in the dwelling of the project and/or in direct proximity. Therewith social functioning in the characteristic social living space be performed wherewith a permanent Ansprechbarkeit exists.
- extensive inclusion of neighbors in the sense of "aid to the self-help" (see in this connection also high share in honorary work)
- connection of children - and youth functioning with proximity functioning
- striven for autonomy and -determination of all concerned
- provision of accomodations and other material resources both for neighbors as well as other children - and youth groups
- supplement through cultural offers (film demonstrations for children, youth and adult, music practice room, isolated concert and theater organizations)
